All the treasures of the Church

The new podcsst functionality on my iPhone has opened up a world of downloadable Christian content to me, podcasts such as James Dobson’s Focus on the Family are just brilliant.

This week the title of a podcast published by London church Holy Trinity Brompton caught my eye: “how to deal with ambition”.

While I am not a trinitarian the message was a good one. The speaker contextualised the credit crunch in light of Jesus’ exhortation on the Mount that we must not lay up treasures on earth.

During the podcast a story was told of a matyr in the early church. The Roman authorities gave him a chance to live if he gathered all the treasures of the church in one place.

The authorities left him to the task and later returned, after which he led them to a large room to show them the treasures of the church.

When he opened the door the room was filled with the poor, the blind, the disabled, the orphans. “see here, these are the treasures of the church”.

God loves the weakest in a special way. They are His treasures!

    Just a thought…
what fi we (the poeple-the church & the unchurch here in USA) remove God from our public arena..
We remove God from the classroom, from our courts, from our society justices…. what happens?
Well we dive into un dreached satifactions with no disciplines or marks to control ourselves. Our economy is a result of our folley… the church keeps electing ungodly men & woman! Then we live follow them in lifestyle… the stentch is grand. Sorry bro to vent.. But our churches need to make good dicesions about our money & lifestyles. I personaly don’t eat out to any fancy resturants or buy expensive items since 2006. We need to control ourselves, Tresures in Heaven are related to our salvsation but I still need to make current decisions to produce econo for a surplus. We the Apostolic Church need to adopt this one principle.. vote like we act… Lets vote for people that are similar in morals first.. much blessing s
