Hair extensions and Hindu idolatry…

The Apostle Paul speaks of Christians not eating meat offered to idols in 1 Corinthians, also backed up by Peter and the governing Apostles in Acts at the Jerusalem Council. However, he never said anything about using ‘hair offered unto idols’… however, I am realising that maybe he should!

Did you know that a lot of the hair extensions for sale today, used by some Christian women
are the remains of hair that was offered to idols by poor Hindu women in honour of their gods?

I think this is enough for anyone to realise that they should be happy with who God made them to be and not use ‘hair offered unto idols’.

The hair extension blog was a bit much. Not all the hair comes from hindus. Not all the hair is offered to idols. I don’t wear hair extensions. I was raised in Bethel at Gibson Rd and then at First United Church in Brooklyn. Sometimes one can put so much emphasis on the outer man that no one notices the inner man. God cares more about how you are living and worship him than how you adorn your outer body. But that’s just my opinion the same way you have yours.

I understand. I wrote the blog to make people aware of where some of the hair comes from. From the perspective that the ladies offering their hair are exploited is a reason some people would not want to wear it. That is before the mention of the idols.

Even as bad was that on the TV documentary I watched on it a lot of the cheap hair extensions actually comes from rubbish tips (no joke).

Food for thought perhaps? Not saying wearing them will send you to hell, just to think about where do they come from.

In 1Corinthians Paul spoke about food being offered to idols and he stated that we know an idol is absolutely nothing and there is only one true living God.Which , in my opinion means that Jesus Christ is the one true God and their idol worship has no power over me.
