A psudeo move of God leaves us shaken but not stirred.

During the weekend’s outreach in Slough, one of the Elder’s at church said something really powerful.  They spoke of not wanting to just come to church and be shaken emotionally but not changed.  This reminded me of James Bond’s famous request for his drink to be “shaken but not stirrred”.
Let me explain how I saw [...]

A celebration of evil starting at 6pm 6th of June – 666.

At 6pm 6th of June, or 666, the album Tubular Bells (Mike Oldfield, 1973) will be played by bands in cities all over the world as part of a global tribute to the theme song of the popular Exorcist film.
The songwriter Mike Oldfield hopes the link to the devil, 666, doesn’t put families off bringing [...]

What is the manifestation of “the God in me”?

The song “The God in me” by Mary Mary is cool, upbeat, optimistic and feel good.  As I have listened to it on the way in to work it has motivated me, made me feel like a winner and someone who can achieve whatever I want.
However, there are some flaws with [...]

The Growing Cult of Saint Death

In Mexico Catholics, used to worshipping saints such as Mary, have adopted a saint called: Saint Death. Though not officially endorsed by the Catholic church it is surely a result of allowing people to worship anyone other than God. The below is a short documentary into the growing cult, you can read more about its origins at Wikipedia (article entiled Santa Murete).

Are we our own God?

A little further down was an irreverent site called: ‘ASBO Jesus’, the site is UK based where ASBO stands for an ‘Anti Social Behaviour Order’. A lot of the cartoons on the site were not the kind of thing I would endorse. However, the below cartoon was quite profound and summed up modern, secularisim’s view of God beautifully.

5 Reasons Christians Shouldn’t Be Following Todd Bentley

I have held off writing about Todd Bentley for some time now. He is being promoted heavily by www.GOD.tv daily. Every time I have been compelled to write I have stopped short because I didn’t think it necessary to state the obvious fact that Todd Bentley is a false prophet, moving under a foreign [...]

An Inconvenient Truth: Baptism in Jesus Name

This is the inconvenient truth for ‘orthodox’ Christianity. Baptism into the Trinitarian formula is not once found in the Bible, because the Apostles understood that salvation was in Jesus’ Name. Hence the singular name given in Mat. 28:19.

Compelling Scriptural Evidence For Baptism In Jesus’ Name

I recently revisited the Bible to explore the scriptures dealing with baptism and the significance of Jesus’ Name for baptism. The scriptural evidence to support baptism in Jesus’ name is overwhelming. I literally had to stop myself there was so much scripture to support being baptised in Jesus’ Name. As an Apostolic I had studied these scriptures before and they are almost a part of me, but it also means I take them for granted. So, to look at the biblical evidence in favour of baptism in Jesus’ Name again with fresh eyes was very refreshing. Here is some of what I got…

C4 Dispatches ‘In God’s Name’: patronising, demonising, annoying.

Being a Christian is no longer acceptable, our beliefs are outside of the norms of an increasingly secular society in which their is no absolute truth, and where the god of tolerance (for all but Christianity) prevails. Watching the show made me sad, frustrated and annoyed at how Christianity was being mocked. The proposition of the show was: ‘its ok to be a Christian, just don’t take your faith too seriously, after all it isn’t true’. And if that is the case, I guess I’ll have to say like Paul ‘after the way called heresy so worship I the God of my fathers…’
