Is it business as usual?

Anointed preaching from Minister Wayne Clark at Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic’s Holy Convocation 2009.  This message exhorts the church to find the way of holiness and not continue with “business as usual”… let us go back to the fear of the LORD and then we will see his [...]

7 things you will see when someone is baptised in Jesus name according to the Apostolic model of Acts 2:38

Adding this clip to the blog as a piece of cultural anthropology.  It is quite an accurate snapshot of how Apostolic Pentecostal baptismal services are conducted by Apostolics with West Indian roots.
The service usually involves: -
1. Baptismal candidate wearing white, or a similar garment (symbolic of purity, holiness)
2. Women’s heads [...]

A short history of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic (part 5): Bethel comes to Canada

Over at Bethlehem United Church (Toronto) they’ve done a fine job of chronicling how Bishop D.W. Thompson came to Canada to evangelise and establish a work in Toronto and Canada.  I’ve reproduced it here: -

Initially, like other immigrants who saw the attraction and prosperity of migrating to a “first world ” country, Dorant decided to [...]

The future of the Oneness Pentecostal movement in the UK

Like Amos let me start by saying: ‘I am not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet’, these are my humble predictions of the future of the Apostolic Pentecostal (Oneness Pentecostal) movement within the UK over the next few years and decades if the Lord tarries.   Note: these are just my own thoughts [...]

A short history of Bethel United Church (part 4): The Origins of The ‘United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic’

The history of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic overlaps and interlinks with many other Apostolic Pentecostal organisations, going as far back as Asuza Street to the P.A.W’s ventures into Jamaica, The Shiloh Apostolic Church, Rehoboth and finally the United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic.
When Bishop Dunn came to England in the 1950’s neither [...]

Creflo Dollar, Rod Parsley, T.D. Jakes and Benny Hinn share their views on the Godhead. Which one holds a Oneness Pentecostal view of the Godhead?

I was over at Let Us Reason website reading up on some of the arguments used to counter the truth of One God in Christ Jesus when I noticed they were citing popular preachers definitions of the Godhead.  What is striking is that there’s guys like Creflo Dollar describing God in terms that are not [...]

Sharing your faith with a Oneness Penetcostal

There’s a few sites and books, such as Gregory A Boyd’s Oneness Pentecostal’s & The Trinity which include sections on how to ’share your faith’ with a Oneness Pentecostal.  They are quite annoying and insulting, making out as if Oneness Pentecostal’s do not know Jesus and are therefore not saved.
Anyway, someone has written a response [...]

Steve Winter, an Apostolic who actually strengthens the arguments of Trinitarians

As much as it pains me to blog this, Steve Winter’s ‘Apostolic’ website is cannon fodder for Trinitarians to fire at Apostolics (such as these links here, and here, and here).  The long beard, lack of love within his hard doctrinal articles, the music band all point toward a cult. I am NOT saying that [...]

Are there more earthquakes now than ever before?

“…And there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places” (Matt. 24:7)
The Lord said that before His coming reports of earthquakes in diverse places would increase. We have seen this prophecy fulfilled as both the frequency of earthquakes and our ability to record and report on seismic shifts has increased.
The ground upon which [...]

An Inconvenient Truth: Baptism in Jesus Name

This is the inconvenient truth for ‘orthodox’ Christianity. Baptism into the Trinitarian formula is not once found in the Bible, because the Apostles understood that salvation was in Jesus’ Name. Hence the singular name given in Mat. 28:19.

A Short History of Bethel United Church (Part 3): The story behind no.2 Gibson Road

My short history of Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic UK would not be complete without a mention of the first church building to be purchased, the iconic, no.2 Gibson Road.
