Two for the price of one. CoE offer free baptism with weddings.

“Conservatives have lambasted the Church of Englands offer of a twoforone service for engaged couples marriage for them and baptisms for their children born outside marriage saying it confuses Church’s message”
This smacks of desperation. Two very spiritual institutions being reduced to a marketing promotion in order to boost the Anglican church’s plummeting membership.

35,000 people recieve the Holy Spirit every day.

I am currently re-reading a little, but very informative, book by Dr Joe Nelson of Parkersberg Bible College called: Historical Outline of Apostolic Faith in North America. It is fascinating and a brilliant contribution to the growing body of work written by Apostolic authors documenting the history of Orthodox Apostolic Christianity (Oneness Pentecostalism).
Between the [...]

7 things you will see when someone is baptised in Jesus name according to the Apostolic model of Acts 2:38

Adding this clip to the blog as a piece of cultural anthropology.  It is quite an accurate snapshot of how Apostolic Pentecostal baptismal services are conducted by Apostolics with West Indian roots.
The service usually involves: -
1. Baptismal candidate wearing white, or a similar garment (symbolic of purity, holiness)
2. Women’s heads [...]

Baptised in Jesus Name and coming up speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance

Found this video on a new blog:  Apostolic Contender.  A lady receives the Holy Ghost baptism as she comes up out of the water after being baptised in Jesus’ Name.

Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal Church International a ministry operating in India

The Great Danger In The Pentecostal Movement

I bought a little book for $3 from Shiloh Apostolic bookstore. It is only a very thin paperback, undated, but the words within are amazingly relevant to today.
Although undated the book must be very old, at least 40 years old (bare minimum), for it was written by a great pioneer of the Pentecostal and [...]

7 compromises to a big church

Here are 7 compromises I believe some preachers make to ensure they have a big church assembly. I don’t believe that all large churches compromise truth for the expense of numbers, but there is certainly an increasing trend for preachers to follow ‘marketing tactics’ in order to grow their membership base.

Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit only for the chosen few?

Thanks to everyone who’s commented on the series of posts on the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues. One of the issues raised was from a brother who had given up on praying to receieve the Holy Ghost in the belief he was not one of the chosen few.
I don’t have my [...]

Advice for new converts

I am about to embark on writing a guide for new converts, a collection of practical wisdom coupled with an outline of what’s happened to them when they said yes to Christ. In the spirit of getting started I wanted to use this post as a thought starter by listing tips and wisdom for new [...]

An Inconvenient Truth: Baptism in Jesus Name

This is the inconvenient truth for ‘orthodox’ Christianity. Baptism into the Trinitarian formula is not once found in the Bible, because the Apostles understood that salvation was in Jesus’ Name. Hence the singular name given in Mat. 28:19.

Compelling Scriptural Evidence For Baptism In Jesus’ Name

I recently revisited the Bible to explore the scriptures dealing with baptism and the significance of Jesus’ Name for baptism. The scriptural evidence to support baptism in Jesus’ name is overwhelming. I literally had to stop myself there was so much scripture to support being baptised in Jesus’ Name. As an Apostolic I had studied these scriptures before and they are almost a part of me, but it also means I take them for granted. So, to look at the biblical evidence in favour of baptism in Jesus’ Name again with fresh eyes was very refreshing. Here is some of what I got…
