I am just reading 2 Corinthians and chapter 3 verse 17 just came alive in my spirit.

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” 2 Cor 3:17

It is clearly revealed that the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. The Holy Ghost that dwells in me is Jesus, The Lord in me.

God I thank you for revealing yourself!

And…

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
Romans 8:9-10

The Holy Spirit in me is “The Spirit of Christ”, which Paul said “Christ be in you”. The Spirit is Christ Jesus living in us.

No wonder Christ said: “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you” (John 14:27).

Jesus is “the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot recieve” he said to the disciples “he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:17).

Dr David Berndard was elected as the General Superintendent, of the 3 million member, United Pentecostal Church International last month (October, 2009).

David Berndard has been the United Pentecostal Church International’s most well known ambassador for the last few decades due to his outstanding contribution to the field of Apostolic Pentecostal Literature.  Pastor Berndard has written books such as The Oneness of God, The New Birth, Spiritual Gifts and many, many others.

He came from missionary parents who served as leaders in the UPCI and he holds several degrees including a magna cum laude (with highest honours) in Law.  Dr Bernard is also President of the Urshan Graduate School, an Apostolic Pentecostal Bible College run by the United Pentecostal Church International in the USA.  I am praying that God anoint and empower Dr Bernard for the work ahead, he is definitely a champion of the gospel and a man of God.  Let us all keep him and his family in our prayers.

St Louis – October 5, 2009. The United Pentecostal Church International announces the election of the Reverend Doctor David K. Bernard as General Superintendent of the 3-million-member church. The ministers of the organization selected Reverend Bernard at their 85th annual General Conference held in St Louis last week.

David K. Bernard is the founder and senior pastor of New Life Church in Austin, Texas. He is also District Superintendent of the South Texas District of the United Pentecostal Church International and president of Urshan Graduate School of Theology, located in St Louis. He has earned a doctor of jurisprudence with honors from the University of Texas, a master of theology from the University of South Africa, and a bachelor of arts in mathematical sciences and managerial studies with high honors from Rice University. He is currently a doctor of theology candidate in New Testament at the University of South Africa.

In addition to his ministry in Austin and throughout the United States, he has ministered in forty-five countries on six continents. Bernard is also a prolific writer who has written extensively on the Bible, theology, the history of doctrine, and Christian living. To date, he has written thirty books, with a circulation of about 750,000. He has been published in thirty-six languages. In addition to his books, he has produced debates and teaching series on CD and DVD and other preaching and teaching helps on CD-ROM.

David Bernard and his wife, Connie, have three children, Jonathan (married to Sara), Daniel, and Lindsey, and one grandchild, Elijah.

The United Pentecostal Church International, headquartered in St Louis, has 30,000 churches in 192 nations around the world and a ministerial membership of 27,000. It was formed in 1945 from the merger of two previously established organizations. The UPCI emerged out of the Pentecostal movement that began in Topeka, Kansas, in 1901. It traces its organizational roots to October 1916, when a large group of ministers withdrew from the Assemblies of God over the doctrinal issues of the oneness of God and water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.

For the past eight years, Reverend Kenneth F. Haney has served as the General Superintendent of the church. Reverend Bernard is the 7th General Superintendent in the church’s history.

Job is the 2nd oldest book in the bible, it deals with the religious man’s biggest dilema – why do bad things happen to good people.

On reading Job God showed me that Job was “Highly Recommended” to suffer! God only puts the best candidates, the ones He REALLY trusts to go through severely hard and firery trial.

If you are going through remember it is because God trusts you, He is with you and He has HIGHLY recommended you. You will come out alright just like Job did!

In Matt 4 Jesus is led up of the Spirit to be tempted of the devil. Hold that thought. God led His Son to face a trial, yes He did. God didn’t tempt His Son, but He put him to the test. We all have a test to face!

In his 3rd test Satan tempts Jesus with “all these things” will I give you IF.

Saints, there’s a lot of THINGS the enemy offers us, but attached to “all these things” is an IF.

So devil, you can keep them!

The other day while talking about God with some of the mothers (elderly ladies) in the church, on a Saturday afternoon while visiting the sick, we all had a wonderful thought about Jesus.

We saw the Oneness of God plainly in the first three words of Genesis, something we never saw or imagined before.

“In the beginning” Gen 1:1

Who is the beginning? It is no other than God Himself, Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The Ending.

So, who was “In the beginning (ie God)”. Was it not Jesus Christ, the Word incarnate!

Maybe that’s why John picked it up and said: “In the beginning (God) was the Word (Jesus Christ)” jhn 1:1.

This blessed me tremendously, it is obvious, simple truth, but seeing my Lord in the unexpected is such a blessing. Our hearts burned within us as we continued to talk and pray on that lazy Saturday afternoon.
