Gracious Lady of God. A poem written in honour of Mother Dunn by Carol Campbell

Gracious Lady of God

Gracious lady, Mother Dunn, a woman of purpose,

How her life shone!

We salute her today, we celebrate her life

She showed us the greatest example of how to live right.

Small in stature but big in the power of Gods might

This was a lady who lived tirelessly for God, oh she never lost sight.

She never lost sight of the kingdom of Heaven; it’s a place where she longed to be,

From a little girl growing up in Jamaica, God knew her destiny.

God equipped her with grace and patience, so she could stand by her husband’s side.

And under the blood of Jesus she was covered, there she would always abide.

She was an extraordinary lady, a rare gem, a spiritual beauty to behold,

But her feet were no longer meant to grace this painful earth,

She was always meant to dance on streets of Gold.

You see, God has called her home, to that sweet old by and by;

Heaven, a place where there’s no sorrow, no grief and no tears tainted with sad goodbyes.

This day, today, we celebrate a woman of valour, a woman of grace.

Mother Dunn, a legendary warrior who always sought Gods face.

A woman who never failed to show kindness, she always had an encouraging word,

She knew that in spite of her own suffering, Jesus was the greatest name that ears have ever heard.

When she spoke in tongues, there was a connection between her and God.

Anointing rested on her and grace her feet shod.

And when she prophesied it was not of self

She spoke by the unction of the divine spirit; the words came from heavens realms.

Yet though her earthly vessel oftentimes rocked with agony and pain

She knew her suffering would soon be over, it would not be in vain.

Her attitude remained unchanged despite her own plights,

Mother Dunns face lighted a room; her presence was magnified in Gods light.

She leaves with us a message; it’s a message that will always remain the same.

There is no other name whereby man can be saved.

Jesus is the answer for all the world today,

Without him there’s no other Jesus is the way.

And so we remain here on earth, until it is our time,

Fulfilling our purpose and by God grace doing what is right.

But until then sleep on dear mother, sleep on

We will always love you, blessed, gracious Mother Chloe E Dunn
