Bethel loses Mother Chloe E Dunn as Heaven gains a saint

UPDATE: tributes can be left for Mother Dunn here http://njae.co.uk all tributes will be added to a book to be given to Bishop Dunn in memory of this great woman of God who has gone home to Jesus.

Sad news reached me this morning, that at around 1AM today, Thursday 9th July, Mother Chloe Effie Dunn fell asleep in the arms of Jesus.

We are going to miss Mother Dunn dearly, she was truly a woman of God during her time on earth. When people die in the secular world it’s customary for the grieving to put them into heaven, we don’t need to do that with Mother Dunn – her relationship with God has secured her seat in His Presence. She truly lived in heavenly places.

Mother Dunn, the wife of our Presiding Bishop Sydney A Dunn is key to Bethel’s establishment in the British Iles. If Sydney Dunn had not fallen for Chloe Thomson c. 55 years ago, he would never have come to England to earn some money so that he could be married – and Bethel would not be what it is today. God used Bishop’s love for Mother Dunn to birth His Church in England. No wonder then that we love Mother Dunn so much.

Mother Dunn was awesomely used by God in the spiritual gifts of laying of hands, diverse tongues, interpretation and prophecy. She was anointed, but also very meek and humble.

Everyone loved Mother Dunn because she was just so likeable, she was not someone to guile or malice anyone and she loved God’s people. Bishop told of times people would give in an offering writing a certain amount on the envelope and when Mother Dunn (who served as Treasurer for Gibson Rd for many years) would find the amount inside less, Mother would go into her pocket and make up the amount so the saint did not look like a liar – wow!

Mother Dunn drove the saints to church in the early days, and she also worked tirelessley in a job while building the ministry with Bishop in the earlies.

The model for a woman of God has been set in Mother Dunn. If you desire to see how husband and wife ministry is to work look at her. Amazingly gifted and yet amazingly humble. She operated under the power of God and recognised that didn’t mean she needed to lose her femininity – I loved her, she was as awesome as she was unassuming!

I’ll hold fond memories of Mother Dunn. Please hold up Bishop Dunn in prayer at this time, no words can express how he must feel right now. He has lost his “other self” (as the late Bishop Monroe Saunders would say).

Funeral details will be posted once it has been announced.

Thanks for your comment sister Ileen. The Beulah Apostolic Church is special to me, both Bishop Gregory and Overseer Linton are men of God I love and admire, they love the Lord and stand for the word. Also, the Wilsden Pastor Elder Ray, your pastor is a man of God.

      Be blessed!
