Rick Meyers e-Sword program is quite simply the best free Bible software tool available. I love the modules that can be built and added on such as Amplified Bible, Dictionaries, Commentaries and so on. What I am waiting for though is the e-Sword iPhone Application (Pocket e-Sword). I don’t see anything on the iPhone Application store that even comes close to e-Sword’s PDA version.
Come on Rick and the people at e-Sword, hurry up and develop an iPhone application… I would pay a 59p/$1 for it.

A new App that is a parallel bible (comparative) reader has been published for the iPhone in January of 2009. It is titled the “Even Word”. It has scores of translations including the King James, Amplified, NIV, NLT (all together 20 English translations) and many more, including from over 40 languages and 70 translations. You can even send the developer suggestions for the future.
Plus at the moment its only $1.99 USD on iTunes.
Built by Kammyland Software, it can be purchased on iTunes at this link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=297647948&mt=8
Or you can view the product’s webpage at :

Hi:
Exciting news on this front. Laridian is about to release a free version of it’s software that can be downloaded to the iphone itself. The add on books will be loaded onto the phone as well. This is great since all other aps of this quality are web based and slow. If you already have books purchased from Laridian they will transfer for free. Laridian will be giving one bible away for free as well as its platform so any Iphone user can see it in action. I am an avid e-sword user and wish they would develop somthing for the Iphone but remember that the platform only suports about 20% of the smart phone users out there where as windows based platforms have the majority of users so it’s most likely an economic decision. Hope this helps.
