I found a link to the history of the Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica, this is interesting to me because its the organisation from which the Presiding Bishop of my organisation–Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic–sprang.
The link was found at www.calvaryshiloh.org and has been reproduced.
History & precepts of Shiloh
The Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica Inc. was formed in November 1942, at a conference held at 16f King Street, Kingston. The ministers who were present were Elder R. W. Russel of Port Antonio, Elder C. Walsh of Port Maria, R. V. Green of Spalding, Thomas Germain of Frakfield, Clarendon, J. N. Thomas of Nine Miles, R. W. Stewart of 20 Arnold Rd., Kingston, Sydney Dunn of Port Maria and other saints.
The name Shiloh was mentioned by Elder C. Walsh and the meeting unanimously agreed that the name should be SHILOH APOSTOLIC CHURCH OF JAMAICA INCORPORATED. Election of officers was next. Elder C. Walsh was elected overseer, Elder R. V. Green deputy, Elder Sydney Dunn secretary, Sister Hannah McFarlane assistant secretary and Elder R. W. Russel as treasurer.
The Organization was legalized on the 22nd of March 1963.
Ever since its inception The Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica believed and practice holiness as demanded by god. “Be ye Holy for I am Holy”. (1 peter 1.14-16)
It was because of the longing for holiness why the fathers turned away from certain nominalists to form The Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica. It is necessary then, that a standard be laid down to maintain the holy life of the believers, not according to man’s wisdom (Matt. 15.8 &9) but according to the living words of God.
It is not enough for one to enter into the church. He must be baptized in the name of Jesus and be filled with the Holy Ghost; but it takes much more to keep one in the Church and living holy. A set doctrine must be laid down and maintained by all believers to keep the Church with spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27.)
The PRECEPTS of Shiloh are carefully laid down according to scriptures. It is not possible at this time to bring to you the full contents, but in a nut shell, here are a few of the principles and doctrines. We believe that there is one God, the creator of all things. ( Gen. 1:1 & Jn. 1:1.)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the natural part of God and not another God as some may think (Jn. 14:7 – 10.)
We believe that Christ died and rose again ( Luke 24:6. )
We believe in water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ ( Acts 2:38 & 8:16 )
We believe in receiving the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues. ( Acts 2:4), Acts 8:17, 10:44 – 48 and 19:1 – 16)
We believe in healing in the name of Jesus Christ. ( Acts 3:6)
We believe that all things must be done in the name of Jesus Christ. ( Col. 3:17. )
In Shiloh our greeting motto is “Praise Jesus.” We believe that the name of Jesus Christ must be established among the heathen, infidels and ignorant. The publishing of the name of Jesus in every instance is highly necessary in these days.
To say ” Praise Jesus” sends a message to the unbelievers, strengthens the believer and keeps away the devil. In Shiloh we always use the name of Jesus in all our doings.
We believe that women at all times should dress themselves in modest apparel. ( 1 Tim. 2:9.)
In Shiloh we have a modest dress which all our women wear, especially on Sundays and official occasions. We do not believe that there should be a competition of dress in the house of god.
All members must abstain from sinful habits such as smoking, taking of drugs, alcoholic beverages, gambling, attending public places where sin is practiced – night clubs, dance halls, parties, theatres and any such places. No member is allowed to work in or perform any of these types of businesses for their living.
Abstain from all appearance of evil ( 1 Thes. 5:22.)
These precepts are not meant to restrict one’s life but to maintain it at the level that Jesus demands.
Lee Harlod Walsh
Presiding Bishop

A set doctrine must be laid down and maintained by all believers to keep the Church with spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27.)
The portion of this quote should rather read “the church without spot or wrinkle”

high my name is ricky and i am a growing christian from mobile alabama in the united states, i really value your precepts and i just have one question. the question is towards the abstaining from places where sin is practiced, i,m not saying thats wrong by no means, i’m just curious and i would like your insight. my question is that if you do not go to these places then how can you minister to those people? and tell me if i’m wrong cause i’m going off the scriptures where jesus hung out with prostitutes and sinners and ephesians says to be imitators of god. thank you for your time, and i hope i have not offended you, i hope to hear from you soon. PRAISE JESUS!

Ricky,
Good question. Going to a place to practice sin is different from helping those in sin to get out of it.
Also, even when working to evangelise the lost we should make sure we do not lose our own soul in the process.

Praise the Lord Jesus,
ricky mentioned in his comment that how can we minister to those people if we dont go to all the places that were mentioned by Mr. Walsh, he also mentioned that Jesus hung out with prostitutes and sinners. well first of all i would like to correct Mr. Ricky letting him know that Jesus did not hung out with prostitutes and sinner, it so happened that where ever He went to preach the gospel of salvation there were people who were prostitutes, who needed deliverance from many different sinful acts and so on.secondly, there is no need for us to go to these places that were mentioned to minister to people who are partakers of such places . there are many different ways in which we can minister to these people whether they are at home or even on the streets.

I was saved in the United Pentecostal Church, however I grew up in Shiloh Apostolic Church (not as a christian) attending Sunday School etc. I must say that these precepts upon which the Shiloh Apostiolc Church was found are essential for the very survival of the Church. I have noticed in recent times that the standard has fallen in Apostolic/ Pentecostal circles, but I think we need to shake off this worldliness and get back in line for we are in the last days. In everything it must be “holiness unto the Lord”. Without this no man can see God’s face.
