All things work together for good to them that love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28)
Yesterday’s message was based upon Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good to them that love him and are called according to His purpose”.
It is a powerful scripture. The power lies in the fact that this is a scripture that explains so much of what goes wrong in our lives. The loss of a job, a betrayal, a death, going bankrupt. It all seems so negative at the time. Nevertheless, God is working out an eternal purpose to bring His plans to pass.
At bible school this weekend I was teaching on Judah’s 2nd and 3rd return from Babylonian captivity under Ezra and Nehemiah. When I considered the captivity and devastation that God wrought through Nebuchadnezzar one could hardly imagine what ‘good’ could come from such a situation. Yet, its fascinating to think that the harsh judgement of God via. the Babylonian’s cured Israel once and for all of their problem with idolatry. When Israel came out of their 70 year stay in Babylon they were so cured of idols that they even missed YHVH when He came in a human body as Jesus Christ!
Anyway, I guess it just goes to show that not just some things, but all things, work together for good to all who love God and have been called according to His purpose.
